Captain Lionel Robbins
About Captain Lionel
For Captain Lionel, boating has been part of his life since he was eight years old. On the Grand River in southwest Michigan, his first yacht was an eight-foot rowboat that drifted ashore in his front yard. His dad guided him through the process of legally claiming the boat, rehabbing, and equipping his new treasure. The next year, the family bought a power boat which he quickly became proficient in navigating, docking, and yes, maintaining. He took advantage of every opportunity to learn the operation of other vessels, the largest was a 1958 Chris Craft, 30 feet of lapstrake plywood with twin 283 engines. He changed the oil, polished the brass, and washed windows to earn his way to first mate. Captain Lionel now continues to entertain passengers with another display of “ mother nature”. The guests enjoy an exciting, educational, relaxing, and fun-filled excursion of one of the most beautiful sections of the 3,000-mile, Intracoastal Waterway (ICW). From the breathtaking Sunshine Skyway bridge of Tampa Bay to the Sponge Docks of Tarpon Springs.
