This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, protect, and disclose information when you use The Capt App. The Capt App does not sell user information and does not share personal information with third parties for advertising resale purposes.

Captain Profile Information
Captain users may provide information regarding experience, availability, licenses, certifications, credentials, service areas, insurance, and related profile details.
Owner Profile Information
Owner users may provide information regarding vessels, service requests, locations, scheduling needs, and other information relevant to connecting with Captains.
Payment Information
For Owner memberships, we may collect billing information and transaction history. Payment processing may be performed by third-party payment providers. Full payment card information may be handled directly by such providers and may not be stored by The Capt App.
Usage Information
We may collect device information, IP address, browser type, app interactions, log information, and related technical data to operate and improve the Platform.
Communications
We may collect and process messages, bids, inquiries, and other communications exchanged through Platform features.
2. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Operate the Platform;
- Connect Owners and Captains;
- Enable bids, chat, and service-related communications;
- Process memberships and payments;
- Provide customer support;
- Improve Platform functionality;
- Prevent fraud, abuse, and misuse;
- Communicate account updates and transaction-related notices;

3. Communications Preferences
Users opt in to Platform-facilitated communications, including messages between Owners and Captains, bid notifications, service inquiries, account notifications, and transaction-related communications.
Users may manage notification settings within the Platform where available. Marketing communications may be opted out of separately.

The Capt App does not sell user information.
The Capt App does not share personal information with third parties for advertising or resale purposes.
Limited information sharing may occur only where necessary to operate Platform services, process payments, comply with legal obligations, protect Platform security, prevent fraud, or facilitate user-requested interactions between Owners and Captains.
5. Third-Party Service Providers
The Capt App may use limited third-party providers necessary to operate Platform functionality, including payment processors, cloud hosting providers, infrastructure services, security monitoring providers, analytics tools, and customer communication systems.
These providers receive only information reasonably necessary to perform operational services. Personal information is not sold or shared for advertising resale purposes.
6. Payment Processing
Owner membership payments may be processed by third-party payment processors. Payment processors may collect and process billing data according to their own privacy policies and security standards.
The Capt App does not control the privacy practices of payment processors and encourages users to review applicable payment provider policies.

We implement commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, improper disclosure, misuse, and unauthorized modification.
No system is completely secure, and users acknowledge inherent internet and cybersecurity risks.

Information is retained only as long as reasonably necessary to provide services, maintain legal compliance, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent fraud, or satisfy legitimate business purposes.
